ANNE MORGAN
Townsend Farm's Head Trainer Anne Morgan began riding at the age of five. She was born into a horse-oriented family, her mother was a long-time hunter/jumper professional at Briar Hill Farm in Ambler, PA. As a junior, Anne competed in multiple divisions, from Small Pony Hunters to jumpers and equitation. Anne and her mother bought prospects for training, showing, and resale, with much success in the show ring.
In addition to extensive hunter-jumper experience, Anne's riding background includes dressage and combined training along with fox hunting. She also participated in lessons and clinics with some of the top trainers in the country. She was accepted into a prestigious summer program in Millbrook, NY, where she took part in lessons with David Hopper, Robert Hotchkins, and George Morris. During the summer, she competed on the northeast "A" circuit in the Junior Jumpers and equitation.
Anne graduated from Hollins University in 1981. While there, Anne rode on Hollins' IHSA Team. After graduating from Hollins, Anne pursued a career in corporate marketing and advertising which eventually led her to focus on new business development for Xpres Corporation in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. There, she ran a tremendously successful start-up division for the company. It is this experience that she combined with her lifelong involvement with horses to help her manage an equine business. |
In 1994, Anne became a partner at Cedar Hollow Stables. While there, she ran a popular schooling show series.
Anne successfully prepares winning riders for the "C" and "A" circuits. She has shown her clients' horses in divisions from Pre-Greens to 4' Jumpers. She also buys and sells "A" show prospects.
Anne's dedication has contributed to her students' success in the show ring. She has had riders qualify for National Finals in jumper divisions, State Finals in Pony Equitation, E.J. Haun Medal, and more.
Anne specializes in training and her expertise allows her to successfully start young horses over fences and teach correct lead changes. Whether you are just starting your riding career or compete on the "A" circuit, Anne can work with you, your horse, and your natural abilites. |
