PEG HOLMES
Born and raised in Simsbury, CT, Peg Holmes began riding at the age of six. She began showing at the age of nine with her first pony and then continued through the junior ranks in CT. Peg moved to North Carolina at age 17 and showed with Deep River Farms, qualifying and showing at the Harrisburg medal finals in 1979 and 1980. Peg is an alumnus of UNC-Greensboro (before there was a team) and spent her young adult years teaching, showing, fox hunting, and running schooling shows. She took some time off after the birth of her son and started back as an amateur in 1998.

Peg sat on the Board of Directors for the North Carolina Hunter Jumper Association from 1998-2000 and horses have continued to be a large part of her life. She has shown at all levels, worked with young horses, and enjoyed all the time she has been fortunate enough to dedicate to her passion. Peg currently holds an NCHJA Judges Card and is pursuing her USEF Jumper Card. She left a 22-year career in the mortgage banking industry with eyes wide open and unbridled enthusiasm to become a member of the Townsend Farm team. |
